Glazed Ham Betty

This is another once-a-summer Cape Cod dish, cooked to perfection by Betty Dixon. serve it with red applesauce, beautiful sliced Early Girl or Big Boy tomatoes fresh from the garden, cottage cheese with fresh parsley, and Betty's rice pilaf.

Ingredients

14 to 15 lbs of ham lots of cloves 18 oz. Tab or Sprite lots of brown sugar a little brown mustard

Instructions

Remove the tough outer skin from the ham. Score the fat all over in one inch squares. Poke into the fat all of the cloves you can fit or afford. Cook in 350 degree oven, basting with the Sprite or Tab as often as you can, but preferably about every 30 minutes or so. It will need to cook about 20 minutes per pound. Start early so that you won't have to cut short the cooking time.
