Red Applesauce
Betty usually serves this with the ham and rice pilaf. It is a big hit with the children, but the adults always seem eat their share as well.
Ingredients
1 quart applesauce
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
cinnamon
nutmeg
1 tsp red food coloring, or to taste (or to eye)
Instructions
Cook sugar, cinnamon and applesauce until sugar dissolves. Add red food coloring. Chill and dust with nutmeg before serving.
