Della and Bill stop at The Hilltop Restaurant and Butcher Shop on Route 1 in Saugus at least once a summer. They stock up on beef that melts in your mouth.
Ingredients
T-bone Steaks or equivalent
Wishbone Italian dressing
Lawry salt (optional)
Smoke flavoring (optional)
Instructions
Place the steaks in a glass or enamel pan and add one or two tablespoons of Wishbone dressing per steak. Lawry salt and smoke flavoring should be added to taste, or not at all. Let the steaks marinade at room temperature for an hour or so. Heat the grill to a medium-hot level. Add hickory or other hardwood chips, which have been soaked in water. Grill the steaks for four to eight minutes on a side, depending on thickness and desired level of pinkness. Serve with a smile.
