Steamed or Baked Chinese Buns
These are a staple of our Chinese celebrations. They freeze well, so make a lot. The recipe comes from brother Allan. A Cuisinart speeds up the process considerably, and limits the clean-up.
Ingredients
4 cups barbecued or plain cooked pork
2 tsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp sherry
4 tsp oyster sauce
2 tsp catsup
1 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
1 1/2 cup chicken stock
Instructions
Mix all ingredients except pork in sauce pan. Cook over medium heat until sauce thickens. Add diced pork. Chill 3-4 hours. Wrap dough around filling. Steam for 15 minutes or bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
